With over 40 years in the food service management industry, Steve’s operational leadership has produced record-breaking revenues within the food service industry, across a broad range of venues and hospitality disciplines. By accepting progressively responsible operational and sales management positions within leading companies in the food service industry, Steve’s career advanced.
Steve’s former responsibilities include the Colorado Convention Center, the Denver Performing Arts Complex; the George R. Brown Convention Center, Jones Hall, The Wortham Theater Center, and The Alley Theater in Houston; Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, San Diego Convention Center, the San Diego Civic Theater; the San Jose Convention Center, The Center for the Performing Arts, San Jose; Safeco Field in Seattle, The Los Angeles Coliseum and Sports Arena, The Rose Bowl, The San Francisco War Memorial and Opera House, The Detroit Institute of Arts, The Fisher Theater…and many more.
Major event experience includes the 1996 Republican National Convention, The 15th FIFA World Cup Finals, Two (2) G7 World Economic Conferences, Four (4) NFL Super Bowls, Two (2) MLB Playoff series, MLB All-Star Games, Two (2) Grand Prix Racing Events and numerous other world- class events. After serving over 12 years with Ovations Food Services as the Senior Vice President of Business Development and Client Services, Steve has formed HRL Consulting LLC to provide a fresh approach for clients needing guidance and an advocate for optimizing food service revenues and income. His previous development and operational management experiences allow him to clearly understand the variety of challenges venues encounter, and develop innovative solutions for HRL Consulting clients.
Professional growth and community service are at the top of the list of Steve’s passions as he re- establishes his base of operations in the vibrant and exciting food and wine capital of the Midwest: Traverse City, Michigan.
Having most recently served on the Advisory Council of the Tampa Bay Chapter of Feeding America, Steve is looking forward to continuing service to his new, local community.
