Richard Sherwood’s career in the world of sports marketing has spanned close to 45 years. From 1998-2011, he served as Founder and President of Front Row Marketing Services, LP, a full service sales and marketing entity and part of the Comcast-Spectacor family of companies. As a $50 million company, Front Row handled commercial rights and revenue generating opportunities for over a 100 public assembly facilities in the US and Canada as well as providing consulting services to numerous international clients and professional sports teams. Front Row’s core business involved naming rights, premium seating and advertising/sponsorship sales and servicing.
From 1989-1998, Mr. Sherwood served as Sr. VP and General Manger of Network International, a Division of facility management company SMG. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the company, which included sales of sponsorship for the Philadelphia Flyers NHL team. Before, Network International, Mr. Sherwood was Director of GD/T Sports marketing, a division of the NY Times magazine group. In this capacity, he coordinated corporate sponsorships and conducted events for many professional and amateur golf, tennis, and skiing events. In his early career, Mr. Sherwood was a college soccer coach, and also Vice President of the United States Soccer Federation marketing division, heading up corporate partnership programs.
